  I picked up this graphic novel on a whim, and it was perfect timing! Seance Tea Party by Remina Yee is about Lora, a girl in middle school who is social outcast and doesn't have a large circle of friends. One day she does a séance in her house and she summons a ghost--who happens to be her old imaginary friend named Alexa. She spends a lot of time having magical adventures with Alexa. Everything seems fine--except Alexa seems to be hiding some secrets from Lora. At the same time, Lora is afraid to grow up.  This book totally stole my heart--it had a wonderful story, wonderful messages, and the artwork is gorgeous! It reminded me of The Tea Dragon Society  books by Kay O'Neill. If you are a fan of those books, check this out!  But I did give it 4.5 stars , but that was just because of Alexa's backstory. I can't tell you what it is because of spoilers, but it might trigger some people. Either way, great book!

Urban fantasy 2. What would your cover look like? Very colorful and cartoony, with some cottagecore aesthetic 3. What would your average Goodreads rating be? Hopefully a 4! 4. What would the main plot be? Something about an eccentric main character daydreaming a lot, and then their dreams come true via magic. They also make a lot of friends along the way while learning so many new things. 5. Would you like a happy ending or a sad ending? Happy of course! 6. What lesson would a reader take away from you? That you can find joy in the smallest and most unexpected of places. 7. What book would you like to be compared to? Anne of Green Gables, Mandy, and the Tea Dragon Society. 

  Yay for another book tag! I saw this tag once again over at the YouTube channel of Angela from Literature Science Alliance (her video here ). It looked like a lot of fun. Feel free to do this tag if you see it! 1. In fall, the air is crisp and clear: name a book with a vivid setting. Anything by Kelly Barnhill! As of writing this, I have read from her The Girl who Drank the Moon and The Ogress and the Orphans. I am currently reading The Witch's Boy and is also has a very vivid setting. 2. Nature is beautiful, but also dying: name a book that is beautifully written, but also deals with a heavy topic like loss or grief. Three that come to mind are: We Are Okay by Nina LaCour, Sweet Bean Paste by Durian Sukegawa, and Chasing Redbird by Sharon Creech. 3. Fall is back to school season: share a non-fiction book that taught you something new. Word by Word by Kory Stamper. It's a nonfiction book about how dictionaries are made, specifically the Merriam-Webster English Dictionary...

Here are all the books I read in August with their respective links to their reviews, if applicable. Yeah, I've gotten kinda lazy to rewrite their summaries here. And some I didn't write summaries because they are sequels. 😂 I read a total of 12  books. Yeah, more than I usually read on average each month! But that's because some of these books were graphic novels/manga or thin middle grade books (almost novellas?) that I could finish within a day.   I can't delve too deep into them since they are the 2nd and 3rd book of the series, but I will tell you right now that I loved them and I gave them both 5 stars! They are just as heartwarming, whimsical, magical, and sweet as the first one, and have both great LGBT and disability rep. I will tell you the 2nd book is a prequel to the first one. And in the third book the characters from both the 1st and 2nd book all come together for a perfect conclusion.  The Tea Dragon Society series is now an all-time favorite graphic novel series for me. It literally had everything I love in fictional storytelling. Thank you Kay O'Neill for your creation!

🎵I am so happy because I finally got around to reading this book!🎵 It took me so long to find this book be available at my local library and when I did see it, I snagged it as quickly as I could.  The Tea Dragon Society by Kay O'Neill is about Greta, a girl who works at her parent's blacksmith shop, but it hasn't been doing so well since the tools that they make are less in demand. One day while walking outside, she rescues a little dragon, which happens to be a tea dragon owned by a family friend named Hesekiel. Tea dragons are special dragons that sprout leaves on their backs that can be used to make all kinds of tea, depending on what herb the dragon grows. When Greta returns the tea dragon to Hesekiel, she meets another girl about her age there who doesn't speak much and has memory loss. Her name is Minette, and she used to be a prophetess in training. Greta and Minette decide to hang out and become friends, and then they both learn more about raising tea dragons...
