Unpopular Opinions Book Tag 2023 Edition

Like my favorite booktuber Merphy Napier, I plan on redoing this tag every year as I read more books and I have more answers. Check out last year's answers here .  This tag was originally made by TheBookArcher on Booktube. Her original video is here:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NYfgq8HgDc0&ab_channel=TheBookArcher As usual, feel free to do this tag if you see it! Here we go! 1. A popular book or series you didn't like.  I once again have too many answers for this one, but I will have to go with The Tenant of Wildfell Hall by Anne Bronte . I found this book soooo boring! It was more of like a Jane Austen novel (an author you already know I don't like), where we have people just visiting each other's houses and gossiping about random stuff. Also, I found the MC to be kind of creepy.  2. A book/series a lot of people don't like, but you liked.  I'm gonna have to go with Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson . This book seems to be very divisive online. I...

MAY WRAP UP

Isn't it strange how ever since I started this blog I never done monthly wrap ups? It just never occurred to me to do it, but here we go. Here is my first one.  I read a total of 8 books this month. I'm not gonna get into the nitty gritty stats of them. Here there are: One Piece Volume 1. So I finally started my One Piece journey and so far I'm loving it! The very first book gets 5 stars from me. I think it's mainstream knowledge of what this book is about. Boy named Luffy is inspired by pirates in his youth. Hears about the "One Piece" treasure. Luffy wants to find it and become the Pirate King. Also accidentally eats a magical fruit that makes him rubber-like. Traveling and meeting all kinds of people ensues.  Mysteries of Thorn Manor . This is the sequel novella to Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson which I read earlier this year and enjoyed. (Review for Sorcery of Thorns here if you're curious) This was a worthy follow-up too that deepened Elis...

I FINALLY READ SORCERY OF THORNS BY MARGARET ROGERSON

Image
And I will tell you right now I am planning on reading the sequel.  Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson  is a YA fantasy novel of a young woman named Elisabeth who was raised and works in a magical library containing grimoires that can move, breathe, and talk! On one particular day a mysterious, somewhat aloof sorcerer named Nathaniel comes to visit the library she works at, and since his visit one of the grimoires, a high-ranking one, turns into a Malefict, which is a corrupted grimoire that turns into a monster. After Elisabeth destroys it, she gets in trouble and is kicked out of the library. Nathaniel and his peculiar shapeshifting demon servant named Silas come to get her and they all go to the capital city to see the Chancellor named Ashcroft, who is supposedly going to punish her, but when they arrive, things aren't always as they seem. Elisabeth also learns there is more to Nathaniel and Silas than meets the eye.  While not an overly whimsical fantasy story, I ...
