  I don't think I need to explain what it is about because I think we pretty much all know. So far it's a slice of life fantasy about Akko (our lead witch) and her friends.  I've actually known about Little Witch Academia for a long time, but didn't get around to it until now when I saw that my local libraries had copies of one of the manga adaptations (it started out as an anime film then series). This version is only three volumes long and is written by Keisuke Sato ! What did I think of volume 1? This was fun! This was some cute fun. I have a feeling it's going to kick into a more serious story later on, but so far volume 1 gets 5 stars from me!  To be honest, it all kind of reminded me of another anime I like called Kaleido Star . From the main character being inspired by watching a live show to the character dynamics and archetypes. It's a nice coincidence! So far my favorite character is Sucy. She's so funny and relatable. 

    It's such a great feeling when you finally get around to reading a popular manga you've know about for a long time, and end up liking it! This is the omnibus edition (they combined all the manga volumes into one big one).  Puella Magi Madoka Magica by Magical Quartet is about teenage girl Madoka, who gets pulled into a magical girl contract by a mysterious creature named Kyubey. The contract guarantees that one wish of theirs will be granted, but they have to fight these monsters called "witches" in order to maintain balance in the universe. Madoka wishes to protect everyone she loves. Madoka's best friend Sayaka gets pulled into to a contract, too, and she wishes to see her childhood friend Kyousuke get better after an accident.  While this is all going on, a mysterious girl named Homura keeps showing up and tries to get the girls (mostly Madoka) to stop doing magical girl duties.  Well, the girls find out very quickly part of the reason why that is. Nicola Traveling Around the Demon's World by Asaya Miyanagi is a cozy fantasy manga series that is 4 volumes long. I read the first two so far! Nicola is a sweet and naive human witch who accidentally finds herself in the Demon World. She forms a bond with a somewhat grumpy but kindhearted demon named Simon, who is a traveling merchant. There isn't much of a plot--it's mostly slice of life just in a fantasy world. Nicola and Simon travel from place to place, meet new people (or reunite with old friends), and get into shenanigans. Simon is almost always trying to buy or sell something, and Nicola learns more about the demon world and practices her magic.  It's very funny and heartwarming! It gets surprisingly emotional at times, too. I gave both books 5 stars. I need to find and read the last two volumes!

  This book was recommended by @xoxobookishgirl over on Instagram, and is part of the 12 books 12 friends challenge. This is the last one! Doughnuts Under A Crescent Moon by Shio Usui f ollows Uno Hinako, a twentysomething who tries to have a normal life by following society's expectations of looking a certain way to try to fall in love, but she is not happy. One day one of her coworkers named Asahi Sato finds her crying alone in a park, and she cheers her up by sharing doughnuts with her. The two quickly become friends, and Uno starts trying to unlearn her people-pleasing behavior, but it isn't easy. Luckily, she has fun hanging out with Sato and her younger sister, and bonding over food.  So far I loved this first volume! I gave it 5 stars . It has everything I like in storytelling: queer characters, slice of life elements, and food. I also love the messages of how "normal" looks different from person to person.     Because this is only three manga volumes long. I Want to be A Wall by Honomi Shirono is a slice of life manga series about a newlywed couple. The wife is named Yuriko and she is asexual. The husband is named Gaku and he is a closeted gay guy  (well, to everyone else except Yuriko)  with an unrequited crush on his childhood friend Sousuke (who is also their gardener). Neither one of them is actually in love with each other, but they still support each other platonically.  Along the way, we end up learning more about Yuriko and Gaku's past as well as more about their respective families and friends. They all end up making really big decisions about their futures.  This series was so heartfelt and emotional, and pretty funny at times, too. It had great commentaries on people marrying for different reasons. It's not always for romantic love, and that's totally valid! There's plenty of great queer representation, too.
