I have not done this series in a while! Here's a new entry... The photo of the author was found on her website, which you can visit by clicking here .   You can find the previous parts to my favorite authors series here .

Favorite Authors Part 8: Beverly Cleary

Another classic children's author! The very first book I read from Beverly Cleary was The Mouse and the Motorcycle , way back in third grade. I then read the sequels Runaway Ralph and Ralph S. Mouse . I liked all three books! Then in fourth grade I read the very first Henry Huggins book. It was good, but I never cared to read the rest of the series.  However, when I picked up Beezus and Ramona , I adored it! I then read all of the Ramona books. I read them so many times as a kid that I can quote entire passages from the books.  I have yet to watch the movie Ramona and Beezus though. Now as an adult, I read Muggie Maggie and I enjoyed it. Then I read Ellen Tebbits and enjoyed that too.  Almost all the rest of her books are on my TBR! I hope I end up liking all of them.

Favorite Authors Part 7: Judy Blume

A much shorter post today. She's probably the most popular middle grade and YA author of all time! When I was a kid, I read three of Judy Blume's books: Tales of a 4th Grade Nothing, Are You There God? It's me. Margaret , and It's Not the End of the World . I love all three of them!  I tried reading Iggie's House a while ago, but I didn't like it very much. I actually DNF'd it. But now I have almost all of her books on my TBR! I especially want to read the rest of the Fudge series.  Did you know she's written a couple of books for adults, too? I am thinking about checking them out.  I found out there is a nonfiction book that came out recently by Rachelle Bergenstein that details Judy Blume and her impact on children's literature. It's called The Genius of Judy . There's also a documentary movie that came out last year about her impact on young adult literature called J udy Blume Forever (not to be confused with her book of the same name).

Favorite Authors Part 6: Nicola Yoon

Nicola Yoon doesn't have as many books compared to the previous authors I talked about (although she has written several short stories that appear in short story anthologies), but what she has written so far has mostly been awesome! The first book I read from her was The Sun is Also a Star , way back in 2019. I ADORED this book! Thanks to this book, I was able to get back into reading for fun again. It's still an all-time favorite. I need to watch the movie. I then read Everything, Everything and I really didn't like it! 🙁 I gave it two stars. The thing that ruined the book for me was the twist towards the end. I am not planning on watching the movie. But then I got Instructions for Dancing as a birthday gift a few years later, and I loved it too! I hope this gets turned into a movie. Recently she has a new book that came out that is her first adult fiction novel. It's called One of Our Kind . I am planning on reading it! I hope I like it too.  So why do I like Nic...

Favorite Authors Part 5: Sharon Creech

Welcome back to my Favorite Authors series! Today it's all about Sharon Creech. The first book I read from Sharon Creech was Absolutely Normal Chaos , way back when I was in middle school. This book blew me away!  I didn't read another Sharon Creech book until I read probably her most popular book Walk Two Moons a few years ago. The book was good, but the ending was so sad! Still one of the saddest endings I ever read for a book.  I then decided to read more of her books. The next one I read was Ruby Holler. Then I read Chasing Redbird . Then I read Bloomability . I really liked all of them! Especially Bloomability .  Fun fact! Walk Two Moons, Bloomability, Chasing Redbird , and Absolutely Normal Chaos all take place in the same universe.  Unfortunately, I then read The Great Unexpected , and I DNF it. I also DNF'd Replay .  Luckily, I read The Unfinished Angel and Granny Torelli Makes Soup after that, and liked both of them!  Wanna know som...

Favorite Authors Part 1: LM Montgomery

A new series where I talk and gush about authors whom I've read a lot from and love! The first Lucy Maud Montgomery book I read and loved was Anne of Green Gables , back when I was in middle school. It wasn't until my college years I found out there were more Anne books and she's written other books not about Anne during her lifetime.  I read the first two Anne sequels ( Anne of Avonlea and Anne of the Island ) and enjoyed them both! I can't say the same for Anne of Windy Poplars , the 4th book. I DNF it.  I found out on TV Tropes (link here , look at "Creator Backlash") that LM Montgomery didn't actually like writing most of the sequels of Anne of Green Gables . She put so many sequels out because the public and her publisher kept demanding it. Believe it or not, Anne of Windy Poplars was actually the 7th book published. It's like the Narnia series by CS Lewis  where the books were published out of order. So Windy Poplars is the 4th book in the ser...
