A little update on Middle Grade March

Image
Well, I read Under their Skin and Nightbooks and loved both of them, but I also DNF these two:    Luckily I am currently reading Witchlings, and so far I am loving it!

One last book I DNF for Middle Grade March

And it's this book! I just could not get into it...  Seriously, it's like every time I participate in a readathon or a book challenge of some kind, I end up DNFing or giving a low rating to most of the books I read. I think I might have to take a break from readathons for a while. I am still doing the 12 books 12 friends challenge for the rest of the year though!  Image of book was found on Google Images

Day 22 of Nonfiction November: Illustrated

Image
Before I get into it, I have decided this will be the last Nonfiction November prompt of this year I will participate in.  I also don't feel like participating in NN next year. I don't think my feelings will change from here and next November. So what illustrated nonfiction books do I recommend? March Wrap Up

I read a total of 11 books this month! You might notice I did not put any One Piece manga volumes here. That is because I decided to switch to the anime! So I am still consuming the story, but in a different format. I think the anime adaption by Toei is really well done!  Anyway, how did your reading go last month? Find any new favorites? 1. Ellie Engle Saves Herself by Leah Johnson. A middle grade urban fantasy book of a girl named Ellie who loves superhero stories. One day, she mysteriously gets magical powers to bring dead things back to life. Ellie tries to keep her powers a secret, but it isn't easy. I unfortunately gave this book 3 stars . Interesting premise, weak execution. You can read the full review here.  2. The Unfinished Angel by Sharon Creech. A magical realism novella set in a small village in Switzerland narrated by an eccentric unnamed guardian angel. We get to meet and learn about the people in the town, most notably an American girl named Zola, who...

GOALS FOR 2023

Since it is a new year, I have decided to tell you all ahead of time what plans I have for this blog! Aside from doing spoiler free book reviews and tags, I have decided to start doing the following: Have some more posts that are not book related, aside from my art posts (that are now mostly on Instagram, if you haven't noticed). This can range from talking about cartoons to stories about my life. I know, it might seem weird since this is primarily a book blog, but I thought it would be a good way to get to know me better and change up the conversations once in a while. Besides, I have other hobbies aside from reading! I will not be making posts about marketing. When I first started this blog I said that I might make posts related to all things marketing, but I never did these past few months, and the desire dwindled over time. I still love my marketing degree and will still work in all things marketing in my private life, but I will not be discussing it here since most of my fol...
