  This book was a part of my Middle Grade March challenge, and it fits the prompt of a book featuring siblings. Well, if you've been on my page long enough, you know how much I love the majority of Margaret Peterson Haddix 's books! This was another great one.  Under Their Skin is about twin fraternal siblings Nick and Eryn, whose mother gets remarried to a guy named Michael. They all move into a new big house to live in. For some reason, Nick and Eryn are not allowed to meet their new stepsiblings. Whenever the twins are out meeting their dad, their stepsiblings Ava and Jackson come to their new house.  Of course, Nick and Eryn get all curious as to why they are forbidden to meet them, so during a snow day when they can't go to school and their mom and stepdad are out of the house, they devise a sneaky plan to go meet them.   Fun fact: I actually read some of the Amber Brown books as a kid, but I didn't remember too much about them afterward. That's why I am planning on reading all of them as an adult. And it was worth it! Amber Brown is Not a Crayon is the first of the many books of the Amber Brown series written initially by Paula Dazinger and later continued by Elizabeth Levy and Bruce Coville. This book follows third grader Amber Brown dealing with the fact the her best friend since preschool, Justin Daniels, is moving away to Alabama. Amber doesn't like sudden change, and she already feels she is dealing with too much with having no other friends in the class and her parents' recent divorce. She at first tries to hang out and joke around with Justin likes she usually does, but it doesn't last for long as she thinks he looks excited to be moving away.   Cake Pop Crush by Suzanne Nelson is a middle grade book that I bought back in middle school at a Scholastic Book Fair in 2012, when I was in middle school. That was 10 years ago! Only now did I decided to start reading it. And boy, was it a great idea! I'm glad I never gave the book away. Cake Pop Crush is about a girl named Alicia Ramirez whose family owns a small, old-fashioned bakery called Say it with Flour. Out of all the bakery items you can think of, Ali likes to bake cake pops, inspired heavily by her favorite celebrity baker, Renata DaLuca. Her family's bakery Say it with Flour has fallen under hard times recently, but they get even more competition when a popular coffee chain opens across the street from them, called Perk Up. Ali and her friends and family have to think up creative ways to save the business from falling under, usually involving Ali selling her cake pops.   I just read the very first Nancy Drew novel ever: The Secret of the Old Clock. I've known about Nancy Drew by Carolyn Keene for a very long time, I just didn't read one until now.  Apparently there are over 500 Nancy Drew books published in the last several decades. I'm probably only going to read the original series. Luckily the books are really short and largely episodic. So you don't actually have to read them in order. I just started with the first one. I'm glad to report that I enjoyed it!  Of course, keeping it spoiler free, in this book we are introduced to 18-year old Nancy Drew solving her very first case ever.
