The One Piece anime is back! But I am still in the Wano arc as of writing this.  Anyway, I finally read One Piece: Heroines Volume 2 ! Just like the first one, this follows a bunch of short stories about different girls from the One Piece universe. The girls this time are: Boa Hancock, Tashigi, Reiju, and Uta. We also get a bonus chapter of Nami and Robin! My favorite story is Uta's story--it was really sweet! My second favorite was Reiju's because it made me emotional. Tashigi's story is cool, too, and so is Nami and Robin's. I didn't really like Hancock's story--it was a little odd. So I gave the book 4.5 stars . But if you're a One Piece fan like me, you'll probably like this too! I heard that the Heroine's novels are getting an adaptation soon, coming out this July.      

Omg this might be my favorite One Piece spinoff novel so far! One Piece: Law's Story by Eichiro Oda and Shusei Sakagami is the story of the character Trafalgar D. Water Law on how he met his closest crew members (Bepo, Shachi, and Penguin) and formed the Heart Pirates. He learns a lot about doctoring and martial arts, but especially life, love, and kindness from his new guardian, an eccentric elderly scientist named Wolf.  I can't get too into it because you'd have to be very familiar with One Piece to understand it, but let's just say this book warmed my heart so much! It's very emotional and well written, and it definitely made me love Law even more as a character. I am so glad we get books like these to get to know certain characters in the world of One Piece more. That's because in the main storyline, we only get bits and pieces of other characters backstories, but books like these put it all together.  So yeah, I gave it 5 stars . It's a must read f...

  As a One Piece fan, I had to pick these up. This is not going to be like my typical reviews since there isn't much to say about these two books. I also can't get too into them because I know not everyone here has read or watched One Piece. Wanted! is just a compilation of random comic stories that creator Eichiro Oda wrote before he officially started One Piece. The last comic, Romance Dawn, is basically a rough draft for One Piece! i gave it 4 stars . One Piece Heroines Volume 1 is a light novel of stand alone stories set in the world of One Piece following four of the female characters: Nami, Robin, Vivi, and Perona. They are pretty lighthearted, so they're great for reading if you want a break from the intensity of the main One Piece storyline.  Or if you're in the mood for something more chill. I gave it 5 stars .

 TW: Mentions of death and injuries Do you have a favorite stand-alone book about pirates? The Pirate Captain's Daughter by Eve Bunting follows Catherine, the daughter of a notorious pirate captain. After her mother dies, Catherine decides to join her father's pirate crew as a musician, all while disguised as a boy named Charlie. Unfortunately, being a pirate isn't as romantic as she thought it was! Most of the crew is pretty aggressive or dismissive, the conditions on the ship aren't very sanitary, nor is the food any good. Aside from her father and another member named Mr. Trimble, she does find companionship in the cabin boy around her age named William, and (kind of) Red, one of the other musicians. There is the constant worry that everyone will find out she is a girl. Additionally, one particular pirate, named Herc, really wants to steal a jewel that Catherine's father stole a long time ago, and he and his little friend Hopper really don't make things easy...

Frenchman's Creek by Daphne du Maurier is a classic historical fiction book set in the 17th century in the UK. It is about Dona St. Columb, a noblewoman who has grown disillusioned and bored with her high class life and decides to engage in escapism to one of her estates in the countryside. While there, she finds out the house has been used as a hideout for a French pirate. She meets the French pirate and his crew one day while out for a walk, and falls in love with him. He also asks her to join his crew. Dona decides to lie to everyone in her social circle back home that she is sick and is not to be visited, but the truth is that she escapes to the Frenchman's pirate crew! She goes on a little pirate adventure with him and makes herself his unofficial cabin boy. However, her little trick causes a lot of tension back home, as everyone in the community knows abo...
