Omg this might be my favorite One Piece spinoff novel so far! One Piece: Law's Story by Eichiro Oda and Shusei Sakagami is the story of the character Trafalgar D. Water Law on how he met his closest crew members (Bepo, Shachi, and Penguin) and formed the Heart Pirates. He learns a lot about doctoring and martial arts, but especially life, love, and kindness from his new guardian, an eccentric elderly scientist named Wolf.  I can't get too into it because you'd have to be very familiar with One Piece to understand it, but let's just say this book warmed my heart so much! It's very emotional and well written, and it definitely made me love Law even more as a character. I am so glad we get books like these to get to know certain characters in the world of One Piece more. That's because in the main storyline, we only get bits and pieces of other characters backstories, but books like these put it all together.  So yeah, I gave it 5 stars . It's a must read f...

  But like anytime I talk about One Piece on here, I keep it mostly vague since not everyone reading this has watched or read the main series. By the way, these particular volumes were written and illustrated by Boichi , but it was overseen by the original creator, Eichiro Oda .   Volume 1, in short, is about how Portgas D. Ace, Luffy's (the MC of One Piece) adoptive brother, kicks off his pirate journey. From meeting his closest mate Masked Deuce to eating the Flame-Flame fruit, we see him and his new crew, the Spade Pirates, travel most of the world. We also see Ace's motivations to fight the man whom he will later join, Whitebeard. Volume 2 continues with Ace's desire to fight Whitebeard and prove his strength. In this volume we spend more time seeing Ace interact with Whitebeard's main pirate crew, as well as Ace's own insecurities.   As a One Piece fan, I had to pick these up. This is not going to be like my typical reviews since there isn't much to say about these two books. I also can't get too into them because I know not everyone here has read or watched One Piece. Wanted! is just a compilation of random comic stories that creator Eichiro Oda wrote before he officially started One Piece. The last comic, Romance Dawn, is basically a rough draft for One Piece! i gave it 4 stars . One Piece Heroines Volume 1 is a light novel of stand alone stories set in the world of One Piece following four of the female characters: Nami, Robin, Vivi, and Perona. They are pretty lighthearted, so they're great for reading if you want a break from the intensity of the main One Piece storyline.  Or if you're in the mood for something more chill. I gave it 5 stars .

  Well, I only read 4 books this month, compared to last months 15 books, but all 4 books got a high rating from me! So it was a great reading month. I'll have links to reviews when necessary. 1. The Witch's Boy by Kelly Barnhill . A wonderful, magical, and emotional story of two children, Ned and Aine, who meet each other in unusual circumstances to protect the magic of their world and their two kingdoms. 4.5 stars . 2. Serafina and the Black Cloak by Robert Beatty -a historical fantasy book of an eccentric girl and the nephew of Cornelius Vanderbilt trying to solve the mystery of the scary man in magical black cloak who is making children in and around the Biltmore Estate disappear. 5 stars . 3. One Piece Volumes 8 and 9 by Eichiro Oda . Still continuing with my One Piece journey! Both 5 stars .  What books did you read in October? How many did you like?

Isn't it strange how ever since I started this blog I never done monthly wrap ups? It just never occurred to me to do it, but here we go. Here is my first one.  I read a total of 8 books this month. I'm not gonna get into the nitty gritty stats of them. Here there are: One Piece Volume 1. So I finally started my One Piece journey and so far I'm loving it! The very first book gets 5 stars from me. I think it's mainstream knowledge of what this book is about. Boy named Luffy is inspired by pirates in his youth. Hears about the "One Piece" treasure. Luffy wants to find it and become the Pirate King. Also accidentally eats a magical fruit that makes him rubber-like. Traveling and meeting all kinds of people ensues.  Mysteries of Thorn Manor . This is the sequel novella to Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson which I read earlier this year and enjoyed.
