Something I have been thinking about recently!     PS. I do not own Barbie. Barbie is owned by Mattel.

Ranking Barbie Movies from the 2010s!

You can click here to view Part 1, where I rank the movies from the 2000s.  Here are my rankings for the animated Barbie movies from the 2010s. I am a lot more opinionated this time around.  Again, these are just my opinions! I do not own Barbie. Barbie is owned by Mattel.  20.   Barbie in her Sisters in a Puppy Chase - Y’all, this is my least favorite Barbie movie ever. Barbie was so out of character in this movie, and I didn’t like how she was constantly putting her and her sisters in danger. 19. Barbie: A Perfect Christmas- It was so melodramatic and boring. 18. Barbie: Spy Squad- pretty boring. Also, they weren’t even good at being spies for the majority of the movie! 17. Barbie: The Princess and the Popstar- the main characters were really annoying. It’s also just hard not to compare it to the Princess and the Pauper. 16. Barbie: Princess Power— pretty forgettable. The character designs and animation were also kind of wonky. 15. Barbie:...

One of my special interests is Barbie, particularly the Barbie movies (only the animated ones, I don't plan to watch the live action one). This is my own ranking of the ones from the 2000s. Please keep in mind this is my own personal opinion! I do actually like all of the movies, but I like some more than others. I do not own Barbie. Barbie is owned by Mattel.  16. Three Musketeers -story was interesting, but it did feel dragged out at times 15. The Barbie Diaries -good story but a huge outlier because it’s not a whimsical fantasy story, which I prefer for Barbie. The animation quality is pretty bad, too. 14. Fairytopia -a good story but Elina’s subplot about not having wings and then getting wings felt a bit ableist. They should’ve at least made her wings removable. 13. Thumbelina -good story but not really about Barbie, or a character she plays 12. The Nutcracker -good movie but I felt it didn’t have very high stakes. Then again, it was the first Barbie movie mad...

Mall Goth Review

Image
TW: Mentioning of predatory relationships I think I expected too much from this one... Mall Goth by Kate Leth is set in the 2000s and follows a bisexual teenage goth girl named Liv. She has just moved with her mother to a new town with a giant mall. Liv starts spending most of her free time at the mall, and ends up getting a job at Create-a-Critter (like Build a Bear Workshop) through the mall's security guard, Alice. Alice is also one of her mom's friends.  At Liv's new school, she becomes acquainted with two other goths named Jake and Aaron. They really like gaming, and invite Liv to join their server to play a popular MMORPG. The guy named Jake also has an on-again off-again relationship with another girl in their English class named Layla. Liv also becomes friends with Layla, but their friendship is put to the test when it comes to Jake's behavior.  Unfortunately, as all of this is happening, Liv's English teacher Mr. Trent seems to have a thing for her, and w...

Hey everyone, for the next few days I will be sharing poems I wrote inspired by my favorite anime and manga series! Today's is inspired by Kaleido Star from Gonzo. You can watch the first opening for the anime above. The poem Run! Jump! Fly! Twirl! Maybe a kick here or two! Quick! Grab onto the beam! Or your friend’s hands. Show business is busy Not always very nice But remind me again why am I here Something about smiles? People from all over come to this spot in LA To see their favorite fairy tale in a whole new light They have to look high, into the sky To see all our hard work So whether it’s acrobatics, ballet, or singing, too. The stage is for all! Yes, even you.
