I hope I am not too late to this book tag! I actually did this same one way back in 2022 a little after I started my page (you can view that year's edition here ) I saw @spacey_ghost over on Instagram do this back in June of this year, and it rekindled my interest to do it again.  Here are my answers for this year! As usual, anyone is free to do this tag. Here are all the books I read in August with their respective links to their reviews, if applicable. Yeah, I've gotten kinda lazy to rewrite their summaries here. And some I didn't write summaries because they are sequels. 😂 I read a total of 12  books. Yeah, more than I usually read on average each month! But that's because some of these books were graphic novels/manga or thin middle grade books (almost novellas?) that I could finish within a day.   The last post I made about underrated books was back in April of this year. Granted, I didn't read a whole lot of books that I thought were "underrated" by the online bookish community standards. Or at least considered underrated by the people that I follow (on both bookstagram and booktube). But two of these are books I read as a kid that I don't see a lot of people talk about online. So here are 4 more underrated books that I love that you need to read, too! 1. Ruby Holler by Sharon Creech . I read this book earlier this year and so far it's my favorite book from this author. Ruby Holler is about twin brother and sister Dallas and Florida who have grown up living either in a run down orphanage run by a cruel and greedy couple, or with foster families who mistreat them. Then they are taken in by an elderly couple named Tiller and Sairy, who live on a farm called Ruby Holler. Tiller and Sairy have been saving up money to go on two separate trips (Tiller a cano...

This is the second Kelly Barnhill book I've read so far. The first one I read was The Girl who Drank the Moon back in 2021, which I gave 4 stars to. The Ogress and The Orphans is set in a fantasy world in a small town called Stone-in-the-Glen, which has fallen on hard times ever since the town's library burned down and other buildings such as the school have mysteriously been destroyed, too. Now no one trusts each other and almost nobody ever leaves their homes. The town orphanage has also been struggling financially. The owners and the orphans are very supportive of one another, and they've been trying to get the town to come together again, especially on market days where they sell handmade soap and food from their mini-farm, but to no avail. At the same time on the outskirts of the town, an ancient Ogress has started to live there and she has noticed how the town has been struggling, so every night she secretly leaves food, baked goods, and handmade cards to the people...
