Underrated Books Part 10

  We've finally arrived to part 10 of my underrated books series! I hope you like these books too. Or are planning on reading them thanks to me.  Goodreads links are provided, too. 1. Word by Word by Korey Stamper .  It's an informational nonfiction book on how the Merriam-Webster dictionary is made, written by someone who has worked there.  2. How to Eat Fried Worms by Thomas Rockwell . A hilarious middle grade book about a boy named Billy who won't lose to a bet to eat fried worms. After all, he needs the money to buy a new bike! 3. Cake Pop Crush by Suzanne Nelson . A cute middle grade book of a girl who tries to save her family's old fashioned bakery when a rival bakery comes into town. And she catches the attention of the owner's son. 4. Bone series by Jeff Smith . An epic (and sometimes funny) fantasy adventure with a unique art style. 

Bloom Graphic Novel Spoiler Free Review

  I was able to finish the graphic novel Bloom by Kevin Panetta these past few days. Here is the summary and here are my thoughts on it. Bloom is a story about a Greek-American young man named Ari who has a band with his friends, and they want to move to the big city to live together and maybe make it big with their band. But his father wants him to take over the bakery that he and his family own. Ari did used to love baking, but over the years fell out of love with it due to his strained relationship with his family. Ari decides to find someone else in the area to hire to do all the baking and running of the shop. He ends up recruiting another young man, a Samoan guy named Hector who is around his age, to do it. While working together they become good friends and Hector even restores Ari's love of baking. However, Hector isn't the biggest fond of the rest of Ari's friends, especially one of them named Cameron because he's really toxic, but Ari doesn't realize how ...

  Cake Pop Crush by Suzanne Nelson is a middle grade book that I bought back in middle school at a Scholastic Book Fair in 2012, when I was in middle school. That was 10 years ago! Only now did I decided to start reading it. And boy, was it a great idea! I'm glad I never gave the book away. Cake Pop Crush is about a girl named Alicia Ramirez whose family owns a small, old-fashioned bakery called Say it with Flour. Out of all the bakery items you can think of, Ali likes to bake cake pops, inspired heavily by her favorite celebrity baker, Renata DaLuca. Her family's bakery Say it with Flour has fallen under hard times recently, but they get even more competition when a popular coffee chain opens across the street from them, called Perk Up. Ali and her friends and family have to think up creative ways to save the business from falling under, usually involving Ali selling her cake pops. At the same time, Ali butts heads with the son of the owner/CEO of Perk Up, named Dane. But as ...
