Ghibli Heroines Book Tag

 I was just browsing the Internet for interesting book tags and I found this one (a link to the original creator). 

If you've been on my page long enough you know how much I love Studio Ghibli! So of course I had to do this one. 

I tagged a few people over on my Instagram, but anyone is free to do this tag. 

1. Nausicaa: Name a strong female character

How about two? Anne and Cai-Li from The Witch Who Chases the Sun.  

2. Sheeta: An inspiring member of royalty

Several! Like Yona. And the Sailor Scouts. And the princesses of One Piece. 

3. Satsuki and Mei: A pair of siblings (or friends that act like siblings) 

How about friends who act like siblings? Aisha and Neil from When it All Syncs Up.

  OMG! I think I found my true favorite Sharon Creech book of all time! Bloomability is now at the number two spot. The Wanderer is about thirteen year old Sophie, who goes on a sailing trip with her two cousins and three uncles across the Atlantic Ocean to meet her grandfather, Bompie, in England. They make a lot of pit stops along the way to get their boat fixed and to pick up more supplies. Sophie and her cousins also learn a lot along the way: about sailing, stories about each other, their uncles, and Bompie, and other random things like juggling. But the trip is not a smooth one! Sailing out onto the ocean blue isn't as whimsical as Sophie thought it would be, and they run into a lot of problems. Update on Favorite Books series

Hello! This is a bit of a different post. If you've been on my blog long enough, you might remember a few months ago I started a series called "Favorite Books of All Time" , where I just listed off books that I read and love. I did it every month. There are 6 total parts which you can view here (takes you to the navigation page). Some of you might have noticed that I didn't post one last month. I am not posting one this month, either. In fact, I think I might pause on doing a Favorite Books post for a really long time.  This is because the posts took a long time to make. Underrated Books Part 18

  It's been a while since I did an entry in this long running series of mine! Here are some more underrated books I've read over the years that I think need more love:  1. Firefly Summer by Morgan Matson -Ryanna spends the summer with her mom's side of the family for the very first time, and they go on a scavenger hunt to prevent their campgrounds from being shutdown. Also the author's middle grade debut!  2. Starry River of the Sky by Grace Lin -set at an inn, a boy named Rendi helps his new friends restore the moon in the sky with help from a mysterious storyteller. Interwoven throughout the story are lots of Chinese folk tales!  3. Call the Name of the Night manga series by Tama Mitsuboshi --a short but heartwarming shojo manga series about a girl named Mira who comes to accept her magical powers.
