Moon Phases Book Tag

 I am not sure who created this tag, but I did see this tag being done by many people over on Instagram, and I thought I'd join in!

I tagged a few people over on Instagram, but there is no pressure to do it. Anyone is free to do it!

1. New Moon: A book on my TBR

Pet by Akawaeke Emezi. I plan on reading it very soon!

2.  Waning Crescent: An engaging series

Plenty. Some that come to mind that I haven't talked about too much on here are: Witch Hat Atelier, Eden of Witches, and Somali and the Forest Spirit

3. First Quarter: A book that changed me as a reader

Plenty, but the first two that comes to mind are Stargirl and Love Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli. I read them when I was in fourth grade, and I am still thinking about them over a decade later. 

4. Full Moon: An all-time favorite

Anne of Green Gables, of course!

5. Wanning Gibbous: A book I did not enjoy.

Several, but Beach Read by Emily Henry was a recent one. So bad I had to DNF it. 

6. Waning Crescent: A book I didn't expect to love but did. 

The Shadow Children series by Margaret Peterson Haddix, because I normally don't like dystopian fiction, but this series was one I surprisingly enjoyed!

7. Dark moon: A dark or an emotional read

Emotional read:  Lavender Clouds by Bex Ollerton

8. Blood Moon: A book filled with rage or carnage

Some carnage: The Pirate Captain's Daughter by Eve Bunting 

9. Blue Moon: A sad or heartbreaking ending

 Willa of Dark Hollow by Robert Beatty

  OMG! I think I found my true favorite Sharon Creech book of all time! Bloomability is now at the number two spot. The Wanderer is about thirteen year old Sophie, who goes on a sailing trip with her two cousins and three uncles across the Atlantic Ocean to meet her grandfather, Bompie, in England. They make a lot of pit stops along the way to get their boat fixed and to pick up more supplies. Sophie and her cousins also learn a lot along the way: about sailing, stories about each other, their uncles, and Bompie, and other random things like juggling. But the trip is not a smooth one! Sailing out onto the ocean blue isn't as whimsical as Sophie thought it would be, and they run into a lot of problems. Luckily, she has her family and they always support one another.  The story is actually told in alternating points of view of Sophie and one of her cousins named Cody. If It Makes You Happy Review

  My first Claire Kann book!  If It Makes You Happy follows 18 year old Winnie, who has her whole summer planned before she starts college in the fall: work at Goldeen's, her grandmother's old fashioned diner, and hang out with her ungirlfriend named Kara.  But then Winnie somehow accidentally becomes part of an annual matchmaking tradition the small town she is staying in has with the next small town over. She gets crowned queen, and a guy she's kind of secretly liked for a long time named Dallas steps up to become her king.  Now all of her plans are thrown out of whack as she and Dallas go around attending town events as Misty Haven's unofficial king and queen. Even worse--Winnie thinks the more she hangs out with Dallas, her queerplatonic relationship with Kara will be ruined.
