Barbie Movies Tag

 Whoa...I can't believe someone made this tag! As a Barbie fan, it makes me happy. 

I tagged some people over on Instagram, but anyone is free to do this tag. 

This tag is a bit different because it doesn't ask any actual questions. Here you recommend books similar to the Barbie movie that is prompted. 

1. The Princess and The Pauper--The best answer I have for this one is Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine, since it also takes place in a historical European-inspired setting and also based on a fairy tale.

2. The Diamond Castle--this time I am gonna go with a manga series (even though I only watched the anime)...and that is Full Moon wo Sagashite by Arina Tanemura. 

3. Swan Lake--Kisses and Croissants by Anne-Sophie Johanneau is a perfect answer for this because the characters in the story literally end up performing the original Swan Lake ballet!

4. The Magic of Pegasus--The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle. Ha ha, I recommended a unicorn book when asked about a movie with a pegasus! 

5. The Island Princess--gotta say One Piece is perfect for this. The Straw Hats have gone to islands with unique animals on them, and have princess friends. 

6. Fairytopia--Wings of Starlight by Alison Saft, of course!

7. Rapunzel--I Wish You All the Best by Mason Deaver. The MC Ben is an artist, too!

  OMG! I think I found my true favorite Sharon Creech book of all time! Bloomability is now at the number two spot. The Wanderer is about thirteen year old Sophie, who goes on a sailing trip with her two cousins and three uncles across the Atlantic Ocean to meet her grandfather, Bompie, in England. They make a lot of pit stops along the way to get their boat fixed and to pick up more supplies. Sophie and her cousins also learn a lot along the way: about sailing, stories about each other, their uncles, and Bompie, and other random things like juggling. But the trip is not a smooth one! Sailing out onto the ocean blue isn't as whimsical as Sophie thought it would be, and they run into a lot of problems. Luckily, she has her family and they always support one another.  The story is actually told in alternating points of view of Sophie and one of her cousins named Cody. Update on Favorite Books series

Hello! This is a bit of a different post. If you've been on my blog long enough, you might remember a few months ago I started a series called "Favorite Books of All Time" , where I just listed off books that I read and love. I did it every month. There are 6 total parts which you can view here (takes you to the navigation page). Some of you might have noticed that I didn't post one last month. I am not posting one this month, either. In fact, I think I might pause on doing a Favorite Books post for a really long time.  This is because the posts took a long time to make. Underrated Books Part 18

  It's been a while since I did an entry in this long running series of mine! Here are some more underrated books I've read over the years that I think need more love:  1. Firefly Summer by Morgan Matson -Ryanna spends the summer with her mom's side of the family for the very first time, and they go on a scavenger hunt to prevent their campgrounds from being shutdown. Also the author's middle grade debut!  2. Starry River of the Sky by Grace Lin -set at an inn, a boy named Rendi helps his new friends restore the moon in the sky with help from a mysterious storyteller. Interwoven throughout the story are lots of Chinese folk tales!  3. Call the Name of the Night manga series by Tama Mitsuboshi --a short but heartwarming shojo manga series about a girl named Mira who comes to accept her magical powers.
