The Reckoning of Roku Review

I am so glad I decided to continue reading the Avatar novels of the Avatars before Aang! I had mixed feelings about the Kyoshi novels (you can read the review for the first one here ) and DNF'd the first Yangchen novel. I had a hunch it was because I didn't like the way the author of those books (FC Yee) writes. Luckily, Roku's books have a different author: Randy Ribay . I am glad to report this book was really good! I do prefer Ribay's writing style a lot more. The Reckoning of Roku is about how Roku (he's the Avatar right before Aang as shown in the original TV show) discovers he is the Avatar. He began his training in one of the Air Nomad temples under Sister Disha, but he's been struggling with his airbending and overall Avatar duties.  At the same time, Roku's friend Prince Sozin has plans to go to a reclusive island that is rumored to have very powerful benders who know rare forms of bending. Experiencing Neighborhood Story again through the manga

  OK y'all, this is my favorite series so far from Ai Yazawa . I've never really been a fan of Nana (gasp! I know. Unpopular opinion) and I couldn't get into Paradise Kiss (also another unpopular opinion) but Neighborhood Story is an underrated masterpiece! Here's the thing I first experienced Neighborhood Story through its anime. I watched the anime with fansubs several years ago on YouTube. When I heard that Viz Media was going to be releasing the manga in English, I was very excited. Now Neighborhood Story has so many new fans! What is Neighborhood Story about? Well, in general it’s about a group of teenage friends who go to a high school specializing in liberal arts, and each have something they specialize in. Their friend group name is Akindo, and they use it when they sell their stuff at flea markets. She Loves to Cook & She Loves to Eat Vol 1 Review

 A sapphic manga about foodies? Sign me up! Well, I've only read the first volume of She Loves to Cook & She Loves to Eat by Sakaoumi Yuzaki , and so far I love it! It is exactly what it sounds like. A young lady named Nomoto loves to cook food and share pics of her food online, but she always cooks in huge portions and has no one to share it with since she can't eat all of it. That is, until, she finds out one of her neighbors in her apartment complex loves to eat all sorts of foods. The other lady's name is Kasuga. Nomoto and Kasuga end up bonding through all sorts of food, and other experiences, and they seem to be falling for each other.  It's a very chill and slice of life manga, but it is so sweet, funny, and relatable! And all the food they have looks so good. It's mostly Japanese food, too.  I gave this first volume 5 stars . I will read the rest!
